Welcome to my Web site. My parents bought a house in Washington, CT in the early 1930's. I grew up in Washington and built a house here in the late 1980's. Many of the qualities that attracted my parents to Washington eighty years ago are still here today: good zoning, quality private and public schools, property-proud residents, a strong plan of development which emphasizes the preservation of our rural character, a diversity of recreation options, and good restaurants and inns, to name a few.
I hope you enjoy touring my listings for sale and rent on the Internet, and I look forward to meeting you and giving you a personal tour of these exciting listings. I also have access to a number of Private Properties exclusively listed by Klemm Real Estate.

You will be stepping back in time and experiencing the passion of the master builder and owner as you walk through this replica of an 18th century cape. Sited on a small knoll between two open meadows, the house was meticulously constructed 20 years ago. Every attention to detail was attempted: granite veneer foundation, radial-cut clapboards from Vermont, windows with old glass windowpanes constructed in the 18th century tradition, plank doors with antique latches, strap hinges and pintles.
The house features three center-chimney fireplaces. The fireplace in the parlor came from a 200-year-old house in Milton. Doors and wide oak and pine floorboards were obtained from local antique dealers. Great detail has been put into interior construction with rough-coat plastered walls and ceilings and hand planing of paneling and wood trim. The H&L hinges and several door latches were hand-forged locally and the remainder are authentic antique latches. Aged tin sconces grace the plaster walls.
A short walk from the screened-in porch is a 30' x 60' perennial garden that has been featured in "Country Gardens" magazine. It is set in a clearing among oaks and maples and is bordered by a stonewall, hand-made picket fences and a 10' x 10' garden house that is a replica of the information booth on the Litchfield Village Green.
The land has been in the same family for 70 years and features a stonewall entrance, a scenic trail system through hardwood forests, open meadows and age-old stonewalls that meander through the fields and woodlands.
This is the first time this property has been offered for sale.
